This grade 1 listed building and scheduled monument property is held on a long lease by The Landmark Trust. New holiday accommodation is to be built into the ruin.
Repairs at Usk Castle which is a scheduled monument. It is a medieval 'English' castle in the Welsh Marches thought to be the location of the last stand of Owen Glydwr at the Battle of Usk 1405.
Grade 2* listed late 17th century building by William Baker architect from Audlem in Cheshire and probably build by Robert Lord Clive (of India) who owned nearby Walcot Hall and was the local MP for this 'Rotten Borough'.
Work included assisting the Bishops Castle Town Hall Renovation Partnership with proposals for an application for HLF grant aid for alteration and improvement of the building's amenities and access which have now been completed and prior to this high level repairs to roof and clock tower.
Appointed by Brymbo Developments Ltd., to survey of this 18th century ironworks and preparation of a report on the condition of the buildings with advice on conservation. Since this work was completed in 2006 no works have been undertaken and the site continues to fall into further decay and dilapidation.
